The laboratory of the Center for Metabolomics and Bioanalysis CEMBIO has two separated laboratory areas, one for sample preparation and another for the analysis of the treated samples. In addition, CEMBIO has 4 offices with a total of 35 workstations (PC-software-printers-internet) mainly for staff (6) and for hired or invited researchers and for national and international undergraduate and postgraduate students. The laboratory contains cutting-edge technology for the treatment of samples as well as for their analysis by high resolution liquid chromatography, gas chromatography and capillary electrophoresis and all coupled to mass spectrometry detectors, most of them with exact mass analysers. All mass spectrometers are connected to independent UPS power supply systems.
The laboratory of metabolomics is the 260th in the REDLAB laboratory.

The laboratory for sample preparation has the necessary infrastructure: analytical balances, magnetic agitators, ultrasound baths, ultrasound probes, centrifuges, ultracentrifuges, cryomorters, tissuelyser, lyophilizer, centrifugal evaporators adaptable to eppendorfs tubes, as well as vials and 96 well plates.

All required to control the equipments and work in a professional environment: Mass Hunter; Mass Profiler Professional; SimcaP+; Matlab.

It covers all types of biological samples: plasma, serum, urine, tissue samples: kidney, liver, lung, brain, cell extracts, etc., as well as plant extracts of fruits, leaves, etc. This variety of instrumentation and samples are the result of our multiple collaborations along with those by external collaborations and contracts.
